The International Centre for the Picture Book in Society and IBBY UK selected illustrators for the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB) 2017. Here we celebrate their work and achievements and thank them for their contribution.

Nicholas Stevenson
Nicholas Stevenson is an illustrator living in North London.
Victoria Turnbull
Victoria Turnbull studied at the Cambridge School of Art and graduated with a MA in Children’s Book Illustration.
Neal Layton
Neal is an award winning illustrator and author of children’s books.
Katherina Manolessou
Katherina Manolessou grew up in Greece but moved to London to become an animator and illustrator.
William Grill
William Grill is a London based illustrator whose main interest lies in narrative illustration and publishing.
Emily Hughes
Emily Hughes was born in Hawaii, USA but lives and works in the United Kingdom.
Alexis Deacon
Alexis Deacon graduated from the University of Brighton in 2001, where he studied Illustration.
Yuval Zommer
Yuval Zommer graduated from London’s Royal College of Art with an MA in Illustration. After working as a creative director at many leading advertising agencies, his passion for picture books won out and he is now the author and illustrator of several highly acclaimed children’s books.
Maisie Paradise Shearring
Maisie Paradise Shearring is an author and illustrator from Hull in the North of England. She studied her BA in Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and followed with an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
Mehrdokht Amini
Mehrdokht Amini is an Iranian-British children’s book illustrator living in England. She graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from Tehran University and has worked as an illustrator for both educational and mainstream publishers ever since.
Jackie Morris
Jackie Morris is a British writer and illustrator. She was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2016. Her illustration of The Lost Words was recognised by UK booksellers who voted it the most beautiful in 2016.
Jane Ray
Jane Ray began her career designing greetings cards, book jackets and posters. Gradually however she moved towards children’s book illustration, specialising in fairy tales, mythology and folk tales, which she finds endlessly fascinating.
Chris Corr
Christopher Corr was born in London and studied at The Royal College of Art. His round-the-world travels provide much inspiration for his work.
Daisy Hirst
Daisy Hirst is from London and lives in Herefordshire. She studied Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, completing her MA in 2013.
Harriet Russell
Harriet Russell studied illustration at Glasgow School of Art and Central Saint Martins in London where she completed her MA in 2001.
