IBBY World Congress
The IBBY International Congress brings together IBBY members and people from all over the world that are involved with children’s books and with the promotion of reading. Each congress is an excellent occasion to make contacts, to exchange ideas and to broaden horizons.
The IBBY World Congress invites delegates from across the world to hear international speakers and exchange experiences and ideas.
It is hosted by a different National Section every two years, which chooses a particular theme to explore. Several hundred people attend the lectures, panel discussions, seminar sessions and workshops. Activities that take place during a congress also include the General Assembly and other meetings, as well as exhibits and the presentation of awards such as the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the Asahi Award and IBBY’s Honour List.
