Translation grants available for Spanish children’s books!

Spanish IBBY writes: Dear friends, as you may be aware, Spain will be Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2022. In order to increase links with European publishers and raise awareness of Spanish literature for children and young adult, the Spanish Publishers Federation and Acción Cultural Española are organising B2B meetings between Spanish publishers/literary agents and European publishers/literary agents specialising in children’s and young adult’s literature. In these meetings you will get first hand information about translation and promotion incentives, meet with Spanish publishers and literary agents and have an insight into the the Spanish literary and cultural world for children and young adult. Also working towards 2022, Acción Cultural Española has launched new translation incentives for foreign publishers. These grants support translation from Spanish literary works to German, English, French, Italian and Dutch. Before the meetings, an informative video will be shown about these translation grants as well as about the Spanish edition. The call for grants is now open and you can apply until December 31st. Date: Thursday 1st July 2021 Presentation: 9.30am (CET) B2B meetings: 9.00am to 5.00pm (CET) Language: English Duration of B2B meetings: 15 to 30 minutes each.
