This is a novel style and approach to a popular subject in children’s information books.

The first section is about the parts of plants and how they work, clearly explained with interesting colourful graphic-style illustrations.
Part two explores the world of plants including evolution, adaptation and plant families, food chains and poisons.
In part three, the book explores the role of plants in everyday life from the food at breakfast to the clothes we wear the houses we live in and our sporting life.
The final section looks at the power of plants in terms of healing, pollution and greening the planet.

The information is contained in punchy and clearly written short pieces with a glossary to explain the scientific terms. The examples throughout the book are taken from around the world so this is a diverse and globally relevant text.

Interesting and fun to read.
