IBBY Congress 2024 to be held in Trieste, Italy from 30 August to 1 September on the theme ‘Join the revolution: giving every child good books.’
The next IBBY Congress will be held in Trieste, Italy, and will develop the ideas of IBBY’s founder Jella Lepman of forging peace-loving generations and of Gianni Rodari. Rodari is one of Italy’s most famous children’s writers and the 1970 Hans Christian Andersen winner.
Ibby Italia say that Rodari wrote about the courage to ‘dream big’ if we are to really ‘change the world for the better and not settle for halfway measures that leave everything as it was’. To change the world, imagine, and build for the future, we especially need good books for everyone, without exclusion. So the Congress with focus on Children’s Literature as drivers of change.
