This is an exploration of wildernesses around the world, from Arctic to prairie, from mangrove to moorland, from outback to savannah through illustration and poetry.

Each poem is set on a white background into a double page illustration of the habitat being discussed. Every animal mentioned in the text of the poem is written in italics to encourage the child reader to identify and point them out. There is some brief accompanying information about each location and the threat to animals and eocsystems. A good introduction to this topic and a stepping off point for further research and reading

Hvass and Hannibal (Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal) is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Copenhagen. These illustrations were originally created for Time Stood Still, an illustration and graphic design festival held at Somerset House, London.
