The 2nd annual IBBY Europe Conference at Bologna Book Fair has been announced for the 4th of April with the theme Languages in Europe: Children reading in a multilingual world. Keynote speakers will be Carole Bloch and Christine Hélot.

For the second time, several IBBY sections from all over Europe join forces to organise the IBBY European Regional Conference. Its theme resonates across Europe: the right of a child to have access to books in his/her home language and to have support for their needs as multilingual learners. Our keynote speakers will present a theoretical overview of language acquisition and multilingualism, rooted in the contemporary European experience. There will also be a focus on various initiatives that have taken place or that continue to develop in Europe and the world. Finally, we will have some group work to exchange and think of practical things that can be done in our own countries.

The Conference will be free for all participants, although you need to have an entry pass to the Book Fair. If you’re only coming to the Book Fair to attend the Conference, a free one-day entry pass will be provided to you.

You can book your spot at the event on Eventbrite.
