This delightful book with bright, colourful illustrations and a relaxed and engaging narrative is a perfect choice to share with children who may be showing signs of over worrying.
Readers will relate to the protagonist Lucy and like us, they will be cheering her on to take part in the school play and have a go.
The author clearly understands children ‘s emotional development and manages to skilfully normalise worrying within a light-hearted, and at times very funny text. The book encourages readers to take small steps towards finding their courage and this is a message that we all, young and old, can benefit from.
It comes from a publishing house that proudly produces ‘Books with a heart on issues that matter’. It is certainly a book which readers will take to their hearts and which will help children understand that other people may be feeling just like them.
