IBBY Honour List 2012
The IBBY Honour List is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honouring writers, illustrators and translators from IBBY member countries. The subsequent exhibition of Honour List Books is shown at conferences and fairs around the world and the Book Catalogue is translated into different languages and therefore reaches a wide, diverse audience.
Titles are selected by the National Section of IBBY who are invited to nominate books characteristic of their country and suitable to recommend for publication in different languages. One book can be nominated for each of the three categories: Writing, Illustration and Translation. Books for consideration should have been published within three years of nomination, so in this instance, June 2008 – June 2011.
The Honour List for 2012 will be introduced at the International Conference in London in August 2012 and diplomas are also presented to the respective authors, illustrators and translators for their outstanding achievement.
The IBBY UK nominees for the 2012 Honour List are:
Author Nomination: Marcus Sedwick for Revolver. Orion Children's Books, 2009
Illustrator Nomination: Lucy Cousins for Yummy: My Favourite Nursery Stories. Walker Books, 2011
Translator Nomination: George Miller for his translation of Delphine de Vigan's No and Me. Bloomsbury, 2010
